Sister of Surf

Sisters of Surf is the story of one woman's plight through life and coming of age.  Growing up Chinese American family where if you didn't stand out you were to remain silent.  To being raised by a single father who at times had to work as many as three jobs to raise four children.  Not being academically sound or worthy of being acknowledged.  There was always something or someone more important. Years later she would decide to paint her path by relocating to O'ahu to live with her mom and stepfather who in turn introduced her to surfing and she would find peace and acceptance.

Kaimana

Born on the Northshore of Oahu. Kaimana took a liking to the Ocean at a early age. The name Kai and Mana are both Hawaiian words derived Kai known as the Sea and Mana which is a spiritual energy and healing power.

La Muerta

Heaven is on my side

Hailing from the South Shore is Matthew Vasquez. Introduced to Surfing at a young age by his father. He soon found himself in love with surfing and the ocean! La Muerte gets its name from the board ridden by Matthew and shaped by Brent Clem

A short film on gratitude and big-wave surfing featuring João “Massas” de Macedo, “Heaven is on my Side” is simultaneously a documentary and a meditation on environmental consciousness through Macedo's experience at the world’s biggest wave in Nazaré.

LAYERS

LAYERS is a snapshot into the deeper motives behind those who have laid their mark on the world. Connor Trimble is one of the best up-and-coming action sports photographers/videographers in the world. I’ve witnessed first-hand his growth and watched the caliber of his work skyrocket; so to create something really special together with one of my closest friends is an honor. This project is fully produced by myself and those I’m working with providing a unique and intimate insight never captured before.

Director Statement

Listening to ones stories is a craft of patience and beauty. Allowing the listening lets the camera make the ART. Lost & Found has been my passion project since the finding of 30,000 negatives discovered at a flea market. I have since documented over 70 stories and have been making assemblies of each interview. These stories are authentic and is history that needs to be shared.

Always Aloha.
